Most of our domestic work is part of a larger project, often working alongside architects, builders and other trades. We plan the installation room by room before work starts, then carry out the first fix, second fix, testing and certification.

We are based in Battle, East Sussex, and carry out full house rewires and larger domestic electrical projects across Kent, East Sussex, Surrey and the wider South East.
Our domestic work mainly falls into four areas: full house rewires, period property rewires, electrical work for major renovations and complete installations for high-end new builds.
We focus on whole-project work rather than small domestic repairs. If you need one socket changing or a minor electrical repair, a local domestic electrician will usually be better placed to help.

Plan the rewire before the work starts
A full house rewire involves much more than replacing old cables. We start by looking at how each room will be used and agreeing the positions of sockets, switches, lighting and fixed electrical equipment before first fix begins.
Where a builder, architect or interior designer is involved, we work from the project drawings and coordinate our work with the wider program.
This helps avoid changes later, such as moving sockets after plastering, adding forgotten supplies once a kitchen is installed or reopening finished walls because something was not allowed for.
We also look at the distribution and future capacity so the new installation is designed around the finished house rather than simply replacing what was there before.
Put the cabling in while the walls are open
A major rewire or renovation is also the best time to install cabling for anything you may want to add later.
We can include the infrastructure for smart home and lighting control, data and networking, electric blinds, additional lighting controls and other connected systems during first fix.
For home cinema, multi-room audio and other audio visual systems, we work alongside our sister company, OBAV. Planning these requirements before the walls and ceilings are finished is usually much easier and less disruptive than trying to add the cabling later.
An electrical installation designed around the finished home
A well-planned rewire should make the house easier to use without drawing attention to the electrical work itself. Sockets should be where you actually need them. Switches should make sense when you walk into a room. The kitchen should have enough power for the appliances being installed and lighting should be divided into useful circuits and controls.
We plan these details with you before the work starts rather than making decisions as we go.
Rewiring period properties and listed buildings
Older and period properties need a different approach to a standard rewire. Existing plaster, timber, cornices and other original features can affect where cables can be routed and how the work needs to be carried out.
We use existing voids and suitable cable routes wherever possible and look for ways to reduce unnecessary damage to the existing finishes.
For listed buildings, additional approvals may be needed before work can be carried out. Where required, we can work alongside your architect and other professionals involved in the project to agree the electrical installation before work starts.
What our full house rewires include
We start with a site visit to understand the existing installation, the construction of the property and what you are planning to change. We then set out the electrical work room by room so you can see what is included before the project starts.
At first fix, we install the new circuits, cabling, back boxes, containment and any additional data or control wiring agreed as part of the project. We coordinate this stage with the builder and other trades so the electrical work is ready before walls, ceilings, kitchens and other finishes are completed.
At second fix, we install the sockets, switches, lighting accessories and other electrical equipment.
The new installation is then tested, labelled and certified, with the relevant electrical documentation provided at handover.
We can also include EV charging as part of the wider project.

Working with architects and high-end builders
We regularly work alongside architects, builders and designers on larger renovations and new-build homes. Getting us involved early means the electrical layout can be planned alongside the kitchen, lighting, furniture, heating and other parts of the project.
We can work from drawings and specifications, mark up the electrical requirements and coordinate first fix and second fix with the wider build programme.
We also set out the scope clearly before work starts so you know what is included and can make decisions before the finishes go on.
Experienced domestic electrical contractors
We are an NICEIC Approved Contractor and SafeContractor accredited. Our engineers are DBS checked and have all been with us for at least two years. We have been trading since 2008 and are used to working on larger domestic projects, including occupied homes, period properties, major renovations and high-end new builds.
Wherever possible, you will deal with the same people throughout the project.

How much does a full house rewire cost?
The cost depends on the size and layout of the property, the number of circuits, the age and construction of the house and the level of finish required.
We visit the property before we quote so we can understand the existing installation and what the finished house will need.
For renovation and new-build projects, we can also price from architects’ drawings and specifications.
This gives you a quotation based on the actual scope rather than a standard price per socket or room.
How long does a full house rewire take?
It depends on the size of the house, the amount of work involved and whether the property is occupied.
A house that is empty and already part of a wider renovation can usually be completed more efficiently because we can coordinate directly with the other trades.
If you are living in the property during the work, the installation may need to be completed in stages and will usually take longer.
We discuss the programme with you before work starts so you know what to expect.
Can you rewire a house while we are living in it?
Yes, depending on the property and the extent of the work.
Living in a house during a full rewire does mean more disruption because rooms may need to be cleared and circuits taken out of service at different stages.
Where possible, we can phase the work so parts of the property remain usable.
If the house is also being fully renovated, it is often easier to complete the electrical work while the property is empty.
What certification do we receive after a rewire?
We test the completed electrical installation and provide the relevant Electrical Installation Certificate and test results at handover.
The distribution board and circuits are also clearly labelled so you have a proper record of the finished installation.
