We are based in Battle, East Sussex, and install commercial EV charging across Kent, East Sussex, Surrey and the wider South East.
We work with businesses and estates teams that need several chargepoints on one site, including workplace charging for offices and commercial property, staff and minibus charging for schools, phased installations across university campuses and fleet charging for industrial sites.
EV charging often involves more than installing the units themselves. We can also deal with the power distribution, cabling and wider commercial electrical installation needed to support them.

We check the electrical capacity before we specify the chargepoints
The first question with commercial EV charging is not which charger to buy. It is how much electrical capacity the site has available. Adding several chargepoints without checking the existing load can cause problems later, particularly when the rest of the building is also drawing heavily from the supply.
We carry out a load assessment to understand what the building already uses and how much capacity is available for charging.
Where suitable, load management can then allow several vehicles to share the available capacity without taking more power than the building can support.
If the existing supply or distribution needs upgrading, we identify that before the installation is priced.
Plan for the chargepoints you will need later
Many commercial sites start with a small number of chargepoints and add more as demand grows. We look at what you need now, but we also discuss what you are likely to need in future.
That can mean allowing spare capacity in the distribution, installing larger cables or putting additional ducting in while the ground is already open.
Planning this at the start can make it much easier and less disruptive to add more charging later.
Load management can reduce the need for a supply upgrade
Several EV chargepoints can place a significant additional load on an electrical supply. Dynamic load management can monitor how much electricity the building is using and adjust the amount available to the chargepoints. The building keeps the power it needs, while the remaining capacity is shared between the vehicles charging.
This can allow a site to install more chargepoints without automatically increasing the incoming supply.
Where there is not enough capacity even with load management, we can look at the options for a supply upgrade through our power distribution and main panels service.
We also assess the electrical protection, earthing and individual circuits required for the charging installation as part of the design.

We regularly work with occupiers, facilities teams and estates teams where the charging needs to fit around an existing building and an existing electrical supply.
For schools, work can be planned around term dates and holidays. On larger estates and university campuses, charging can be installed in phases as demand and budgets allow.
The important part is that each phase is designed as part of the same longer-term plan rather than treated as a separate installation.

How many EV chargepoints can our existing electrical supply support?
It depends on the capacity of the incoming supply, how much electricity the building already uses and the charging rate required.
We carry out a load assessment first and then look at how many chargepoints the site can support.
Load management can often allow several chargepoints to share the available capacity rather than requiring each one to have its full maximum load available at all times.
If the existing supply is the limit, we can also advise on the power distribution work needed.
Will we need an electrical supply upgrade?
Not always.
Where there is enough spare capacity or load management can be used, the existing supply may be able to support the charging installation.
If additional capacity is required, we will identify this during the survey. A larger supply upgrade may also involve the distribution network operator, which can add to the project timescale.
We explain this before the installation is agreed so you know what is involved.
How much does commercial EV charging cost?
The cost depends on the number and type of chargepoints, the existing electrical capacity, cable routes, groundwork, load management and any distribution upgrades required.
We visit the site before we quote so the price is based on the complete installation rather than the cost of the chargepoints alone.
Where groundwork, distribution or supply work is needed, we include this clearly in the quotation.
Can we charge staff, tenants or visitors for using the chargepoints?
Depending on the charging system selected, usage can be recorded and access can be controlled through cards, tags or an app.
This can allow businesses, landlords and estates teams to track charging and recover electricity costs where required.
We discuss how the chargepoints will be used during the survey so the system can be specified with the right access and reporting options.
