We have worked with City Electrical Factors across three branch projects, covering commercial electrical fit-outs for new premises alongside the refurbishment and upgrade of existing branches.
Each one meant delivering a full electrical installation in a busy commercial building, taking in the trade counter, the retail areas, the offices, the meeting rooms and the staff facilities. Working with the wider project teams, our job was to put in an installation that does what the branch needs day to day and is neatly finished.
What each commercial electrical fit-out covered
Across the three branches, our scope has included:
- Electrical installations for branch refurbishments and new premises
- New energy-efficient LED lighting
- Emergency lighting
- Power and small power installations
- Electrical alterations to suit new layouts
- Lighting to trade counter, retail, office and back of house areas
- Testing, commissioning and certification
- Coordination with the other trades through the refurbishment programme
Getting the lighting right in a trade counter
Lighting was a substantial part of each refurbishment, and the requirements change as you move through the building.
The retail and trade counter areas need bright, even light so customers can see stock and staff can work at the counter without shadows across it. The offices and staff areas need something more comfortable to sit under all day. Fittings were chosen for each area on that basis, giving an installation that uses less energy and needs less maintenance than what it replaced.

Three branches, and what repeat work gives you
Having now completed works at three CEF locations, we understand what an electrical wholesale branch needs from a commercial electrical fit-out, which is not quite the same as a shop or an office.
That experience shows up in the practical parts of the job. We work efficiently alongside shopfitters, contractors, suppliers and the client’s own teams, and we sequence the electrical work into the wider refurbishment programme so the branch is ready for occupation and trading when it is supposed to be.
Repeat work is also the measure we pay most attention to. A client coming back for a second and third branch says more than anything we could write here.
The result
Each project has delivered a practical, well-finished electrical installation built around how the branch is used, certified and documented at handover.
