Structured cabling and data installation across the South East
We are based in Battle, East Sussex, and install structured cabling across Kent, East Sussex, Surrey and the wider South East.
Our work includes Cat6 and Cat6a data cabling, comms cabinets, patch panels, fibre links and cabling for Wi-Fi access points.
We work in offices and commercial property, schools and education, universities and industrial buildings, as well as larger homes and high-end builds. Data and networking also form part of our wider range of electrical services.
Plan the data cabling with the rest of the building
Data cabling works best when it is planned at the same time as the electrical installation. We can agree the cable routes, containment, comms cabinet location and outlet positions before first fix starts. This means the cables follow suitable routes and the outlets are positioned where they are needed.
We also allow for future capacity where possible, so new outlets or equipment can be added without starting again.
Every outlet and patch port is labelled clearly and the finished installation is tested before handover.
Every data point is tested and certified
A data outlet working when a laptop is plugged into it does not necessarily mean the cabling has been installed correctly.
We test the completed cabling using suitable test equipment to check that each link meets the standard for the category installed. This includes checks on the cable length, termination and performance of the completed link.
Every data point is tested individually. If a link does not pass, we correct the problem and test it again before handover.
You then receive the test results along with the cabling records, so you have a clear record of what has been installed.
A network that is easier to manage
Clear labelling and proper records make a big difference once the network is in use.
Your IT provider can identify which outlet connects to which port in the cabinet without having to trace cables through the building.
If desks move or equipment changes, you also have a clear record of the cabling already available.
Where we are installing the containment as part of a larger project, we can leave capacity for future cabling rather than filling every route on day one.

Power and data installed on the same project
We regularly include structured cabling as part of our commercial electrical work for offices, schools, universities and other commercial buildings. The same applies to larger homes. On a high-end domestic rewire or new build, we can install the data cabling alongside the smart home and automation wiring while the walls and ceilings are open.
Experienced data cabling contractors
We have been carrying out electrical and data installations since 2008. We are an NICEIC Approved Contractor and SafeContractor accredited, and our engineers are DBS checked.
We are used to working in occupied offices, schools, universities, commercial buildings and private homes, and can plan installations around normal building use where needed.

Data and networking FAQs
What is structured cabling and do I need Cat6 or Cat6a?
Structured cabling is the fixed data cabling installed throughout a building, connecting outlets back to a comms cabinet.
Cat6 is suitable for many offices, schools and homes. Cat6a may be more suitable where higher network speeds, longer-term capacity or particular project requirements need to be allowed for.
We recommend the most suitable option after looking at the building and what the network needs to support.
Can you install data cabling in an occupied office?
Yes.
We can phase the work around occupied areas and carry out installation outside normal working hours where required.
We agree access, ceiling work and any disruption with you before the work starts so the cabling can be installed around the way the building operates.
How much does data cabling cost?
The cost depends on the number of data points, cable type, run lengths, containment, access and whether any work needs to be carried out outside normal hours.
We survey the site or work from project drawings before providing a quotation.
This means the price is based on the actual installation rather than a standard cost per data point that may not reflect the work required.
Do you install fibre between buildings?
Yes.
Fibre can be used where buildings need to be connected across a larger site or where the distance is not suitable for copper data cabling.
We survey the proposed route, install and terminate the fibre, then test it before handover.
Where additional ducting or building work is required, we can include this within the wider project.
Networking for audio visual and smart home systems
If the network will also support audio visual systems, digital signage or other connected equipment, we can plan the cabling alongside our sister company OBAV.
