Lake Electrical are electrical contractors in Surrey, and the county is part of our regular coverage alongside Kent and Sussex. The business is family run, owner led and based in Battle, East Sussex. We have been trading since 2008, with commercial clients making up most of our work. We handle the full electrical installation, so you are not left finding separate contractors for the main supply, the distribution and the fit-out.

Office and Cat B fit-outs in Surrey
Much of our office work is Cat B fit-outs and refurbishments for tenants moving into or changing commercial premises. That can include power and data to desks, floor boxes, lighting, emergency lighting, distribution boards, containment, meeting rooms, kitchens and comms rooms.
Where possible we ask for the furniture and desk layout early, so sockets, floor boxes and data points go where people will use them. It avoids finding a full distribution board, or moving floor boxes, once the installation is already underway. We can also coordinate with the landlord, building manager and fit-out contractor on access and isolations, and document any alterations at handover. We have carried out fit-outs across three City Electrical Factors branches, covering the trade counters, retail areas, offices and staff facilities, with new LED and emergency lighting throughout. We worked alongside shopfitters and other trades so each branch was ready to trade when it needed to be, and CEF coming back for a second and third branch says more than anything we could write here.
Multi-site LED lighting upgrades
The survey is free. We look at the lighting you have now and come back with the cost of an upgrade, the estimated annual saving and the payback period, so the decision rests on figures. Most commercial sites recover the cost of an LED lighting upgrade through energy savings within five years.
We can run the work as one programme across a group of buildings. In the South East we delivered a £1.2 million programme of LED lighting upgrades across 12 education sites, eleven schools and one college, using Kosnic fittings. It ran during term time on night shifts, no school or college closed, and every site was left safe and ready for pupils and staff the following morning.
Backup power and main panels in Surrey
If your building cannot afford to lose supply, we design and install backup power, including standby generators, UPS systems, transfer switching and temporary supplies. We start by assessing the electrical load and identifying the circuits that need to stay live, such as servers, communications rooms, access control, refrigeration or production equipment, before recommending a system. The finished system is commissioned and tested before you need it.
For larger buildings we also handle the main intake panel, LV switchgear and distribution, designing and installing them with phased changeovers and temporary power where parts of the building have to keep running.
Testing and certification
Our EICRs, fixed wire tests and periodic inspections are carried out to BS 7671. Our reports are written for facilities teams, insurers, landlords and anyone else responsible for the building, setting out what we found, what needs attention and what can wait. Every installation we complete is tested, certified and documented at handover.

Surrey sits within our regular South East coverage, and for larger commercial projects we work further afield, London included. We plan the work around how your building runs, which can mean evenings, weekends, school holidays or phased working where parts of the site have to stay operational.
Our engineers arrive in marked vehicles and branded workwear, with the PPE the site requires. Our accreditations are NICEIC Approved Contractor and SafeContractor, and all our engineers hold DBS checks.
