Client: Fabric Nightclub, London
Project: Lighting & Power Alterations for London Nightclub
Installer: Lake Electrical Limited
Lake Electrical works as nightclub electrical contractors in London and the South East, and was appointed to carry out lighting and power alterations inside one of the rooms at Fabric as part of the venue’s continued development. The room was being reworked into a new atmospheric cave, and the existing electrical installation had to be adapted to suit a completely different layout and lighting design.
The interior design made a feature of the venue’s existing brickwork and arched architecture, using carefully positioned red lighting to create a distinctive and immersive environment.
What nightclub electrical contractors have to work around
An established entertainment venue has an electrical installation that has grown up with the building, and a new room design rarely sits neatly on top of it.
The alterations had to integrate cleanly with the existing infrastructure while allowing the new design to lead. That meant the electrical services needed to disappear into the finished interior rather than compete with it, and still be practical to live with and compliant once the room was in use.
The lighting and power alterations we carried out
Lake Electrical adapted the existing electrical installation to accommodate the new room layout and lighting design.
The work covered:
- Alterations to the existing lighting installation to suit the new design
- Relocation of lighting and power supplies to the new positions
- Coordination of the electrical services with the finished interior
- Integration with the venue’s existing electrical infrastructure
The result: a whole new room
The completed room combines Fabric’s original brick architecture with dramatic feature lighting to create an intimate, atmospheric environment that feels completely different from the main club areas.
Electrically, this was a relatively straightforward job, and . What it shows is how considered lighting and power alterations can support a wider interior scheme without detracting from the character of the building. That is usually what venues want from their nightclub electrical contractors: work that supports the design instead of dictating it.
